my mom has this thing about skin cancer. shes paranoid about it, like you wouldn't believe!! i've tried everything and my friends don't understand why i can't go swimming with them from 1:00-6:00. Please help!!
pimples on my back
I have to have about 8-10 places on my back taken off and tested. I really nervous because the doc said they could most likely be skin cancer, melanoma, and needed to be tested. My appt. isn't til 8/4/08 to have this procedure done. I have an infant and am still in my 20's. I'm scared and just want to know if anyone will share their experience with me. I want to know what to expect if it is melanoma.
my whole back and my chest
I noticed a raised bump on my knee, it started to grow and grow really painfull. It's kind a irregular, and it changes colors, like its red/pink around the bump, but the bump, itself changes colors from blue, brown, black, and a dark shade of red. Around the bump, this skin around it is really thick, then the rest of my skin. It kinda resembles a mole, but I never had a mole there before, the mole started to grow about 2 weeks ago. The top of the bump is a small white crusted opening, and it's kind a scaley. I'm 13 years old. Should I be worried about this? Please answer as soon as possible. Thank You =]
My dad said it was just an infection from a bug or something, he said to pop it, but I'm not so sure. lol
In the summer i got to the pool alot, and since i live in florida the sun is relly hot and intense. Im getting these white spots on my face , and then they go away after a whiloe but when i go back in the sun tthey come back. Does this mean ima get skin cancer when i am older ?
I am only 25, but noticed today that on my back is a flat (unraised) brown mole, but with jagged edges and both light and dark brown colors. It doesn't look like the gross melanoma pictures I googled on google images, but I don't know what cancer looks like! Is it okay to wait a month before going into the doctor? I have always covered up, never tanned and always wore spf 50 if I went swimming. I'm an in-doors girl so I don't know what's up.
Is it possible to have an irregular mole with jagged edges (looks more like a ragged mud puddle than a circular regular mole)? It's possible I've had this my whole life…just never noticed it. It's between my shoulder blades.

My friend sunbathed a lot years ago and had a mole removed as it was possibly cancerous. 25 years later she was diagnosed with skin cancer and had 29 lymph nodes removed from her armpit. She has been back to the hospital and they have found another fatty lump which they believe is malignant. Is the prognosis poor?
