My friend’s Dad just had surgery for treating esophogeal cancer. It was a very serious surgery but he’s at home recovering now. Doctors say that they got the tumor and that hopefully he’ll be cured and to start living life normally and come back for check-ups. I have a card that reads "sending prayers your way". I want to add a personal message like, "hoping for a full recovery" or something–this is where I need help. HOWEVER, due to the fact that my friend said the doctors say he may be cured, is it still okay to send a card saying, "sending prayers your way"?? From my perspective, I want to send a prayer that he will be cured and that everything will be okay. But I don’t want to ruin her possible perspective that things "are fine and he’s cured now". I know that espophogeal cancer is very deadly and I just want to send a prayer that he’ll recover and be cured–but I’m not sure how to phrase it in a more kind manner.
Just want to clarify that I am sending the card to my friend (not her Dad who has the cancer).

Since it is primarily toxic to the liver? I know alcohol abuse increases the risk of liver cancer- but then again, chemotherapy increases the risk of secondary cancer!
"Where do I get these ideas?" Hm, out my own head. But here’s an article I dug up while you were busy providing an incorrect answer:
http://www.livercancer.com/treatments/alcohol.html
And yes, various chemotherapy drugs interfere with normal DNA transcription and therefore are carcinogenic. All chemotherapy is essentially targeted poison, and ethanol is more selective for liver cells.
Thanks Alex for being polite and providing true information..

Thanks Alex for being polite and providing true information.. I certainly don’t dispute its toxicity!
