im 15 and i think i have breast cancer?
Posted on Mar 11, 2010 under breast cancer |Ok, so today in my science class, my teacher was talking about breast cancer and stuff. she also was saying how we should check our selves for lumps n stuff… so i did… i think i have a lump. im not 100% sure if it is , or if its tissue or something.. do i have breast cancer? or am i just being paranoid? idk im soo stressed out. i don’t wanna have cancer. the way my teacher was talking about it, it sound scary and painful.. no one in my family has ever had cancer except for my dad which he got a year ago. other then that, no one in my family had cancer. my dad got cancer from smoking.
Do i have breast cancer? Im so worried.. help me pleasee
last year on feb 18 my dad died from cancer.
he didnt have lung cancer i nvr said he did. he had bladder cancer.

More than likely not. But if you have a lump and you’re worried about it, I would get it checked.

Nobody can tell you online if you have cancer, thats ridiculous.
You MIGHT have cancer, but i doubt it.
All girls have lumpy breaSts when there still growing, but go see your GP to put your mind at rest ok?

I seriously doubt it. Your dad’s cancer is UNRELATED entirely, you can’t pass down lung cancer from smoking.
Breast lumps can be caused by many things. Calcium deposits. Fatty deposits. Cysts. You can also get lumps in your breasts at regular times during your cycles.
If you’re that stressed out, go to the doctor and get a breast exam there, but don’t let the teacher stress you about that. It’s great that you got on the horn and checked yourself though! A lot of us tend to forget to.

its probably nothing. when my teacher was talking about breast cancer and a bunch of other diseases i got really paranoid about it too and i started to think "Oh my god, its a lump! I feel it!" when actually it was nothing at all! if you’re really nervous about it talk to your mom and ask her opinion. even if its probably nothing, its not bad to double check. or if you’re really REALLY nervous, go and ask a Doctor. hope this helps!

Lung cancer and breast cancer are different things. Just because your dad had lung cancer doesn’t mean that you’ll get breast cancer. If you had a family history of breast cancer, then yes, you would be at higher risk.
It’s impossible to diagnose a lump over the internet. Since you’re 15, your breasts are most likely going through benign (non-cancerous/non-harmful) changes, especially if your period is just around the corner. It’s EXTREMELY rare for someone your age to get breast cancer, especially if you don’t have a family history of it.
If you’re worried, always go to your doctor.
