I have a rapid mole growth on my ear. 8mm in about 2 months. Could it be skin cancer?

I am a few days shy of 18 years old. I’ve had a mole removed before due to the possibility of malignancy.

This mole thing on my ear is pale pinky brown. a little rough and unevenly shaped. It looks a bit like a bubble at about 3 or 4 mm high. It’s about 1cm now width wise in total. I’ve had this mole for years and it hasn’t grown before. its located on the anti-tragdus of my ear, It’s wrapped around my cartilage.

Could this be cancer?

How would my doctor remove it?

Thank you.

Do not waste time-get to a dermatologist now. Your regular doctor-no. He has only studied skin for 3 months. My dad was told by 2 regular doctors his was nothing. He could have died! Yours has all the warning signs. Go!

Any mole like that should checked out. But you have to understand that the vast majority of abnormal moles are not cancerous.

What your doc will probably do is slice a piece of it off and get it biposied. Its very simple and he can do it in 5 mins. There are ussualy 3 things that will happen after that.

    1. He will say its totally benign and nothing to worry about, and that will be that.

    2. He will say its benign,, but pre-cancerous or slightly suspicous. Meaning it has potential to be a problem down the road. If thats the case he will removed with minor surgery and stich it up.

    3. It will be cancerous, in which case it will have to be removed and furthur tests will be done to decide how to proceed. But this is unlikely to happen..
