Do wireless routers cause brain tumours? Need evidence.?
Posted on Mar 08, 2010 under Brain Tumors |My friend has thrown away his wireless router because he thinks they cause brain tumours.
I disagree but need proof. Anyone have a peer reviewed papers on this topic or something else to show he doesn’t need a 20m CAT5 cable to go on the internet?
Thanks in advance,
Dave

Even if it did, all he needed to do was shut off the wireless service in it, and the rest of the router would have functioned just fine.
The radiated power output of wireless routers is so small that no reputable researcher would bother studying its effects.
Cell phones are much more powerful, and people put them right up to the side of their heads to talk. Even the effects of that haven’t been decisively determined.

Answers so far are right. While there is a "small" risk, since routers run in the microwave frequencies that are used for cooking in microwave ovens, the power is quite small.
The risk of using Cell phones is much larger (yet phone companies like to keep that quiet - $$$$), since they run more power.
However, like anything else, moderation reduces any risk, whether it be wireless routers, cell phones, or drinking vodka…
If you stay away from the wireless router by several feet on a normal basis, you should be fairly safe… However, if you have a wireless router by your bed, on the night table, I’d say to move it away, just to be safe…

I think the burden of proof would be on him, as he is the accusing party.
What’s it to you if he chucks out his wireless router?
Just another stupid person throwing away money.
