Posted on Mar 02, 2010 under Liver cancer |ok im 17 years old. my mom died last friday from liver cancer. it was a very painful and horrible way to die because she knew it was coming.
im a muslim and have a few qeustions pertaining to the religion of islam:
is my mom a martyr? she died of liver cancer and coudn’t eat for weeks and months.
is my mom a shahid? or whatever they call it?
according to islam, it says she has the right to "intercede for 70 family members" or soemthing like that…what in the world does this mean? "intercede"? huh?
thats about it. thanks
i prefer answers from people who are muslims. or atleast experienced and know what they are talking about. i do not want a long paragraph saying sorry. thanks.
and dont argue about religions either plz. thanks.
thanks for looking
SPL Texas…you my friend, are an idiot.
"guess who showed up on my door JESUS!"….well no actually since you live in america, and what over 90 percent of the population in america is christian it isn’t that jesus "revealed" himself to you…you just went with the flow b/c ur too afraid to be embarassed and find out god urself. u just belived everyone else…which is fine im not saying anything bad to you. but dont talk to me with such arrogance plz. thanks.
and
p.s.: jesus didn’t show up to my door, im not a christian so stop trying to convert me my goodness, im a strong muslim and will never change no matter what happens.

What makes you think the true God respect a man made religion?
Consider this - if your parents were buddhists, hindus or such, would just believe what comes down the pipe.
Seek to know God yourself and he will come and reveal himself to you.
I did and guess who showed up in my room - JESUS!

Not a Muslim and sorry you lost your mom, but I can answer with full confidence she is not a "martyr".
Martyrs are people who willingly yield their lives to the hand of a government or mob in the name of God and or a cause consistent with God’s will and or some other intrinsic value –even if that cause is refusing to bow down to another God or violation of God’s law.
Your mother’s death was the result of a disease which no man inflicted on her. She surely suffered and may have been very brave through it, but it was a death of natural circumstance and her life was not taken by violence (or rather given as martyrs more accurately do) for the sake of the cause.

I am so sorry to hear about your lost. I will pray that the Lord will comfort your heart in these sad times. I am out here to tell people that Christ is returning on May 21, 2011. Yes, this is from the bible. We are told to blow the horn and that is what I am doing. This will happen whether we want it to or not. He is coming back. Not as he was, teaches the bible, but we shall see him as he truly is. Learn more at……

Salvation is personal. Jehova the God of Abraham is the one true God and through Jesus has provided a way back to him. Life is only a journey, He is the destination.
So be quick and seek Jesus, he has the answers to all of you questions.

I am not a muslim, but i want to say that you do not become a martyr by dying from a disease. When someone is killed can he become a martyr. Intercession means she will be able to relay your family members requests to God whenever they pray through her.
