do you think that there is a cure for cancer and aids? i mean Magic Johnson has had aids forever and is perfectly normal. not to mention that hes got money. i found that if they did find a cure, the world would be a lot more populated and doctors who specialize in chemotherapy would lose there jobs. and other doctors may as well.do you think this is a conspiracy?
i was reading in a magazine that you could shave your head and it would donate money to cancer. at first, I thought this was ridiculous, but then i considered it deeply and now I am sure that I want to, but i’m just making sure that this would be possible. thanks!!!

well, i have had two out of three jabs, but i was wondering whether you can still get cervical cancer, once you have had all three.
Im doing some research on the Cervical Cancer Vaccine, I would like to know what people think about some girls being allowed the vaccine while others arent allowed it and women have to pay £405 for the vaccine? also what do you think about girls being bribed with £45 vouchers to have the vaccination? and do you think boys should get the jab also? Do you think it should be made available for everyone?

I know she probably wants to talk about it because its upsetting, but I feel like shes completely violated my privacy and I am embarassed to even go out in public around people we know now. For example, she will tell everyone every detail about my last pap test, biopsies, scans, radiation and chemo, the possibility that I may now also need a hysterectomy, my next scan to check my status…
Anyways, I ask her not to tell anyone any of these things. I told her to keep it simple, for one, if its not someone who already knows and they are not someone I know (family or CLOSE friends) then I did not want to tell them at all. I feel its really personal, life changing and being only 27 this changes certain things that are pretty basic in most peoples lives.
The last straw was because they told me that theres a small chance I will need a hysterectomy if this one tiny spot doesn’t clear itself up, and I have to get a scan in a couple weeks to find out if its gone now or not. I had to have chemo and radiation already and that was hard enough, but I didn’t lose my hair so my secret can remain my secret if I wanted it to, if she wouldn’t have told everyone.
Anyways, now I have people asking me about my scan, what the results of it are…I didn’t even get the scan yet and everyone and their brother knows I am having it done. Also they ask if I am gonna need a hysterectomy…call it whatever you want, but to me having a hysterectomy is sort of embarassing and for sure not something I want everyone to know about. Thats something that I would like to share only with the very closest people in my life, maybe not even all of my family. It makes me feel less of a woman not to have the very parts that make you a woman, I don’t want everyone to know about it. I’ve went to counseling over this mentality over the hysterectomy already, I don’t believe theres anything anyone can say to change my view on it. Bottom line, it embarasses me.
I mean we’re not talking about cancer on my finger or something. And I try constantly to block out the idea that I even have this cancer, and try to live normal. But just when I forget about it and don’t cry for a day, someone random has to come up and ask me about it…they heard from guess who? My mom!
When I told her not to tell anyone that I was having this scan done in a few weeks, she told me she wasn’t going to lie if anyone asked. I told her its private, please don’t. She told me that she was going to tell if anyone asked her how I was doing or anything. I told her that because she can’t keep my business private, I am not going to let her come to my doc appts. anymore with me and I will let her know when I think theres something she needs to know. I felt mean to say that to my mom but I don’t know what else to do. I feel totally violated.
What should I do? Don’t I have a right to privacy on my cervical cancer?
From Sept-Nov (a total of 8 weeks) I underwent chemo (cisplatin), the maximum dose of external beam radiation (mostly concentrated on my pelvis and para-aortic trunk area), and brachytherapy (about 5 treatments +/-).
Anyways for the past month or so, I’ve noticed myself feeling like a 90 year old, like my hips/joints around my pelvis ache and cramp up. Sitting for a while then standing is really hard on my hips.
I’m not overweight, I’m on the thin side. I was exercising for the first couple of months after treatment but a recent skin infection from the radiation prevented me from doing so for the past few weeks. Thats when I realized this hip joint pain was not due to the exercise and it was a real problem.
I’m of course going to mention it to my oncologist in a few weeks when I see him but I was just wondering if this is a common issue after radiation? The only other problem I have from it is stomach problems, upset stomach, etc. but nothing I can’t handle or didn’t expect.

I went to the doctor for the skin infection 3 days after it started to look like it was getting infected, they swabbed it for a few bacteria strains or something, came back clear and they just gave me some cream to put on it. The infection cleared up within 5 days. Now I just have this pain that I know is not from exercise now.
Hair loss and skin discoloration both are completely gone, I am so happy about that part That went away within about 2 months.
I’m registering a team in the Susan G. Komen 5K and we are trying to come up with a Team Name. We are all friends from school and basically all of us know someone who has been diagnosed or survived breast cancer so we want to run as a team in honor of ALL of them. We are going to print all their names on our shirts and our theme is sorta about how we are all connected because of our individual family members/friends who have survived (or not)… any thoughts?? The obvious ones are already taken (breast friends, bosom buddies)
a pop up has just come on my computer, about breast cancer, and i was reading it, and it said to look for some things for signs of breast cancer, and nipple discharge was one? i was just wondering if this is just a sign of cancer or it can just be a normal thing? i have found some sort of discharge there before so i just wondered do you think it should be something i should be concerned about? im 14, thanks.
I’m not looking for sympathy or whatever drama might ensue from asking a question like this. But I’m 16, and while I’ve heard it’s uncommon for my age, I’m absolutely aware that it’s not impossible. I was taught to feel the area around your breasts (for women in this case) a few days after your period. But in my paranoia, I’ve found myself checking every week with not much change. They’re tender to the touch and sometimes my breasts just feel way stressed even while they’re held in a bra. Is it normal for my breasts to hurt like this, or is it a medical problem? I’m looking for a few good personal opinions on what I should be doing. Thank you.
