My mother was recently diagnosed and for a time, they thought it could possibly be operable, but we found out that it was not. She is not on air or anything and only found out because she had an x-ray at the dermotologist. She hasn’t been told her stage yet, but as far as I know so far, it is still considered "early." How long did your love one live and what was their stage?

Someone very close to me has secondary liver cancer (it has spread from the breast) She also has tiny amount of secondaries on the lung. She found all this out in january but i’m unsure how long this may have been there for. She responded well to treatment until now. Now it’s been downhill. She’s unable to walk far or eat much, constant pain, los loads of weight. Basically is beginning to look ill for the first time. She starts a new treatment on thursday which may or may not work. I’m wondering if anyone can tell me, as it’s not the kind of thing you ask, how long she may have left taking all this into account. I know there is a really bad prognosis for liver cancer and I know once cancer has spread it’s incurable. I guess i’m wondering how long might be left as we’re approaching christmas and i’m aware it could be the last. I want honest answers and don’t know where to get them from. I’d appreciate some advice. Thanks.
I know alot about secondary cancer/metastatic/advanced breast cancer etc (not curable, breast cancer cells in liver not liver cancer ones if that makes sense!) but still feel like I know nothing!

My boyfriend had been complaining about head aches for a few months so, he finally went for a CT scan a few days ago and the doctor told us that they had found a tumor. But, the doctor did not say if it was cancerous or not. My boyfriend is going back to the doctor in a month.
In the mean time I have been trying to research brain tumors to try to find out if this may be cancerous or not. But, I am having no luck and I am very frusturated. I was wondering if anyone out there knows if cancerous brain tumors hurt? I was told a long time ago that cancer does not hurt in the beginning but, I’m not too sure how true that is.
Any feedback would be beyond helpful.
and the doctor also said that the tumor was caused by stress.

I am writing a book about a 20 year old young man that is diagnoised with an inoperable and untreatable brain tumor. What kind of treatment would be available for him—sans chemo, radiation therapy and surgery? What kind of tests would be given? I know that sympathy management is an option, but I need a little more info to make the book sound legit.
Thanks!

For the past 2 months I’ve been having symptoms that have been getting worse. My symptoms are:
Headaches
spinning sensation
ringing in the ears
difficulty concentrating or learning new things
difficulty balancing myself
head pressure
blurred vision
occasional loss of hearing
occasional numbness in my left leg and permanent numbness in my big toe on the same leg
went from carefree person to angry and irritable
always tired
loss of appetite, nauseated
feel like I’m living in a dream
Difficulty in articulating words
(I also wake up in the middle of the night feeling like I’m about to pass out)
I started taking Lexapro because I suspected severe anxiety, but my symptoms have not been alleviated, I’ve only been calmer and my appetite is back but the symptoms are still there. I’m going to see the doctor today but was wondering if anyone can give me some advice. Thanks in advance.
A brain tumor was the last thing I suspected, I only began to wonder about it a week ago because my symptoms have not been alleviated. But who knows maybe it is all in my head.

I’m trying to learn as much as i can about being tested for leukemia and tests that are involved with it.

Can you explain what a spinal tap tests for? and also, please tell me about any other tests done for leukemia.
Thank you a ton!
