where can i ask financial help for my brother's medication for his brain tumor?

my husband and i are both jobless at the moment…my father just died early this year…a month ago my brother has been diagnosed to be suffering from brain tumor. we refused to have him undergo a brain surgery because apart from being financially handicapped, we don't want to take risks. so we opted for medications instead. my eldest brother is 50 years old, very talented, but has been deprived of living a full life because of his constant seizures and now the tumor. i am appealing to all those who have a good heart who can spare any help for my brother…thanks you so much. and may the good Lord continue to shower you more blessings…God Bless!

I’m really afraid that my friend may have a brain tumor…?

Dear People,

I'm really worried about my friend. He has been going through a very difficult time. He has been having symptoms that, to me, seem like the symptoms of a brain tumor.

His symptoms:

-His sleep schedule is different than usual. He usually sleeps normally until recently, he has been sleeping 14 hours a day and still is tired. I know that if you get too much sleep, you're usually more tired but it could be part of something else.
-Seizures: He has been having seizures…not the ones where he's everywhere on the ground but he basically just stiffens up like he is paralyzed. He doesn't know that it's going on but he realizes the change in positions of people after it's finished. It lasts about a minute. He feels a rush come onto him before it starts and then he just locks up. Some people don't even realize it happens sometimes. It looks like his eyes roll to the back of his head as well.
-He gets headaches where it feels like something is stabbing him in the head. The pain usually occurs in the back of the head. He describes them as if a person is taking a knife and digging around in the back of his head.
-Nausea and vomiting sometimes. He becomes nauseous a lot and sometimes he vomits from it, and it's not from food.
-Ringing in the ears. The ringing in his ears are louder than someone talking very softly. He can hear it over his own voice if he speaks softly or over the typing of a keyboard.
-Memory loss. Most of the memory loss is short term. An example is when we went out to eat at a diner, it was him and another friend of mine. We chatted and hung out like normal. The next day i saw him, the memory of the night before was just a blur. He only remembered two little things we talked about, bubble wrap (didn't even remember why we talked about or what it was about), and he just remembered that we were there, and who he was with. The harder he tries to remember, the worse it gets. His memory is also getting worse. Sometimes when he puts something down, walks away, and then walks back, he completely forgets he even puts anything down.
-Vision. He isn't quite sure if it's just his vision or it relates to everything else. His vision is getting much worse. He just got a recent prescription of new contacts about 3 months ago and they don't seem to be helping anymore.
-Confusion. He gets confused easier now. He says he feels like he has a hard time sorting out his thoughts and organizing them. Sometimes it's worse than others, but he is easily confused.
-Balance. Sometimes he has a harder time walking in a straight line.
-Unknown Depression. Sometimes he doesn't even know why but he just gets depressed.
-Fatigue
-Feels really hot when the room is obviously not hot.

Could this be because of smoking cigarettes, or is it because of drinking? He just does those socially. Not recently because he has not been feeling well because of the above. I'm very worried.

He is not insured right now. He is about my age (21) and I am also trying to find out a way to at least get him an MRI, and they can be very expensive without insurance. I'm not sure where to go for help. Maybe there is a way to find help with the government? I don't know. I mean, i would suggest what most people would suggest, go get checked by a doctor, but unfortunately need to find a way to get insurance. Thank you for helping.

Does anyone know about Knee Cancer?

Posted on Jun 23, 2009 under cancer news and reports | 3 Comments

A couple weeks ago my mom's knee started bothering her and it got to the point that she had to wear a knee brace to walk. She went to the doctors and they ordered an X-ray and an MRI. The X-ray didn't show anything but the MRI came back and the doctor said it might be cancer. Does anyone know anything about this? All of the sites online say things different and i didn't want to get my facts wrong. Any information would be greatly appreciated because it is hard on my whole family and we would really like to know what the future holds. Also my mom doesn't go the the surgeon until July so we couldn't even ask the doctor until then. Thanks in advance.
