Do I have cancer or is this just a lymph node?

Posted on Jun 24, 2009 under cancer news and reports |

I've talked to many people with cancer, and in the beginning they always say they have had like a ball inside of their body that they can move around in a specific area. But a lymph node is does kind of the same thing. I feel a very little bit of pain.
Sooorrrry, the lump is like at the bottom corner under of where my jaw curves to my neck. And it can move to the mid-section under my jaw. I dont think its serious after what I have researched and heard from you guys. Thanks alot.

i would say get it checked out asap. My boyfriend had a lump in his stomach and it turned out to be a tumor, but luckily the doctors are saying it's non-cancerous and he got it removed. Hope it's nothing serious but definitely get a CT scan

You did not mention the location of this "lump" you are concerned about. There are lymph nodes located all throughout your body. They are very common around the head/neck/armpit and groin areas. If you can move this "lump" around that typically is a good sign. Cancerous lumps tend to be matted down to the tissue around them are immobile.

You also did not mention the size either. If the size is around .5 to 1.5 cm in diameter then odds are it is just an infected lymph node. If it continues to grow in size or does not go down within the next 2 or 3 weeks then I would go see a doctor and have it checked out to ease your mind.

An enlarged lymph node is not always a sign of cancer. Most common cause of an enlarged lymph node is when there is any sort of infection in your body. You do not give enough information about where this lump is, how big it is, how long it has been there for etc. Best to get yourself looked over by a doctor

    all the best
