One of my friends at work is collecting cards for a boy with Leukemia, I was just wondering what are some good ideas to put in cards? We do not personally know this boy.
his profile is here:

I just read this part "Presently, there is no sign of cancer in Shane's system since relapsing."
does that mean he wont get leukemia again? or what are the chances? thanks

To add to my last question….my friends capuchin monkey was diagnosed with leukemia. She as been around a cattery which supposedly none of the cats are FELV positive, or show no symptoms if they do have it. Could a non human primate be infected also just be being around them. I am not sure if the monkey touched them, but maybe she has, and monkeys love to groom other animals that will tolerate it.

My 3 yo indoor cat has had medical problems since April 2006. I've been taking him to the vet pretty much every 1-4 weeks since then. Needless to say, I've spent well over $6000. The vets aren't exactly sure what's wrong with him. They are suspecting Leukemia, although the bone marrow aspirate we had done was negative. The internal medicine vet suggested we have a "clonality study" done. They can take a blood sample to look at his lymphocytes (which have been elevated) and determine if they are cancerous, and whether they're mature or immature, along with some other things.
My questions are– has anyone ever heard of a Clonality Study? Does anyone have any idea how much this will cost me (the vet hasn't yet found out from the pathologist that will be performing the study). Any info. on Clonality Studies and your experiences with them would be greatly appreciated, as I have never heard of them before now and don't really have a clue about them. Thank you very much!

Two years ago, I went to see the doctor because I had headaches ( I was working at a gas station at the time, which could have been the reason why).At that time I had to take a blood test n a vaccine for small pox. When my blood test came back, the doctor told me " I am sad to tell you, but chances are that you might have acute leukemia" with a look in his face suggested that I was going to die. He quickly sent me to the general hospital (even paid the cab). There,I explained to the doctor the situation, and they set up a appointment the next day to do a bone merol (sorry for the spelling). The doctor took a sample of my blood from inside my bone, and the results turned out fine. It's been two years now since I've been to the doctor. I'm scared to go back. I'm healthy, rarely sick, if ever, just a little skinny for my age, because I don't play sports as much as I used to. I just don't know why the first doctor diagnosed me with leukemia, and even told me that I could die if I dont treat
I took all the blood test: HIV1 & 2, syphilis, etc. they all turned out negative
Even after 2 years, it has a psychological effect on me. Im perfectly fine, but I always think Im sick

recently my cousin died of leukemia last August 26 and a friend also died of the same disease last Jan. 23. Both of them have blood type B`. Is this kind of blood type really prone to leukemia?

so, today during health class i was told that if you are eating as much as you are supposed to and still not getting energy, or sleeping the normal 7-8 hours of sleep every day, or even beyond that, and are still extremely tired during the day and have to take naps, you might have leukemia. i dont really know what leukemia is, and i havent looked it up, but i have both of these very badly. i also constantly feel sick. i have never felt 100% good in years, really. not ONE day (no exaggeration). so do you think i might have leukemia? i have not been to a doctor for about 4 years so i have no memory or information about any of this.
